Transfer esim to new iphone: Transferring an eSIM from one phone to another is quite simple. If you’ve recently purchased a new iPhone and want to move your eSIM to the new device, you can follow the process explained below.
In most cases, eSIM technology is commonly used on iPhones. Before transferring an eSIM from your old iPhone to a new iPhone, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Also, both the old and new iPhones should be updated to iOS 16 or later.
Once these requirements are complete, you can easily transfer your eSIM by following the step-by-step process.
How to transfer esim from one iphone to another
Here, we have explained how you can easily transfer an eSIM from one iPhone to another. We have covered the complete process step by step.
1. Transfer eSIM Manually
- For this, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Set Up Mobile Service.
- Here, you will see all the eSIM and physical mobile numbers that you use on your iPhone.
- Now, if your telecom operator does not support automatic eSIM transfer, you will see “Transfer Not Supported” written just below your number.
- If this happens, you will need to contact your telecom operator. If you use a Jio eSIM, you will need to download the MyJio app, verify your email ID, and send the text “GETESIM” to 199.
- If you are an Airtel user, send the text “eSIM” to 121, and if you are a Vodafone Idea (Vi) user, send the text “eSIM” to 199.
Once this is done, you will receive a verification email confirming that your eSIM transfer is in process.
Transfer an eSIM Automatically
There are two ways to transfer an eSIM — one is using “Transfer from Nearby iPhone” and the other is by using a QR code.
- For this, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Set Up Mobile Service. Then tap on “More Options” at the bottom of your screen. You will see two options — “Transfer from Nearby iPhone” and “QR Code.”
- If you choose the “Transfer from Nearby iPhone” option, you will receive a notification on your old iPhone. Tap on Continue and enter the verification code on your new iPhone. Once this is done, your eSIM will be transferred successfully.
- If you choose the QR Code option, you will need to call your telecom operator and request a QR code. Use the Camera app to scan the code. When the “Cellular Plan Detected” notification appears, tap on it. Then tap Continue at the bottom of your screen and add your data plan.
Note: To transfer an eSIM, you must have an active internet connection. Also, both your old and new iPhones should be running iOS 16 or later.
